Masters Update PDF Print E-mail
Written by Rock

Hello Masters,

Here is the news:

1.       Four in a row = what a great day = as it has been a really long time since we had 4 in a row.  Now, let’s play harder next time and make it 5 alive.

2.       A great win today against Wynnum.  We won 22.7.139 to 4.8.32, that is our first win over 100 points (or well that is what I can remember).  Major goal scorers were Sutto, Al and Hayesie, and they made sure they told anyone who would listen.  There were other goal scorers (sorry too many to remember) and well done to the forward line who all assisted and contributed to the big score.  That is our biggest score for a long long time.  Considering our last 3 games scored a total which was a little less, it was a great 4 quarter game.

3.       Equally important, were the midfielders who played hard throughout the game, and there were many attacking plays from them.

4.       The backs were solid throughout, and that is confirmed as Wynnum were goal-less at halftime.  What a great defensive effort.

5.       Thanks to all our supporters, spouses, partners and kids who came along to see our first home game.  Your support was vocal and out on the field, we could hear the cheers when our boys were doing well.

6.       By having an interchange bench, we were always able to put a strong 18 on the field.  We look forward to seeing you every game and at training.  We do have a good team with a good bunch of players and supporters.

7.       Also, a big thanks to Bazza, Birdy, Caleb, Bruce and others who helped organise, support and assist our team today.

8.       Training will be at Griffith Uni this week, starting at 6.30pm.  Those 11 players who turned up and trained in the wet, made them better players today, as they really had better control of the ball in greasy conditions.  Our match fitness is improving, so see you at training.

9.       Our next game is on Sunday 14 July, at Moorooka, against Wynnum.  Yes, again.

Yours in footy,
