Some sensational news from the Junior Roosters and Reds in relation to representative football.

Isaac from the U12's has made the Met West district representative side. Congratulations Isaac!

After a successful campaign playing for SEQ South in the recent State Championships, four Griffith Moorooka Reds have been selected to represent Queensland at the forthcoming National Championships in June!

Congratulations to Jenna, Tiarna, Sarah and Laura!

On behalf of the entire club, we are very proud of you all!

Last year GMAFC were successful in obtaining a BCC Healthy Lifestyle grant which would allow 40 children to participate in our club Auskick.

The club Auskick commenced on the 23^rd February and currently every Saturday sees over 48 children participating, who potentially could be future Roosters and Reds players.

This is a great initiative for the club, and great for grassroots footy.

The Women’s draw for the first 9 rounds of the season has been released.

This season will incorporate a Home and Away system, with home games being played at Griffith Uni whilst field works are under way.

It would be great to see as many of you down supporting the girls this season.

Go Reds

GMAFC found out last week that they were successful in receiving the State Government’s “Get Playing” Grant for $100 000, to upgrade the clubs field lighting. The grant news has come at a great time, with the clubs field works commencing on Monday. The field works will include returfing, levelling and installation of an irrigation system.

With the field works and this successful grant, it looks like a few things are going in our favour! Looks like it might be the year of the Rooster and Reds.

The final details of the Masters "Be a man" Carnival have been ironed out and are as follows:

Date: Saturday 23rd March

Venue: Sandgate Hawks Sporting Club

Group 3 - 38s - 12:30 to 14:35

Northern Stars
Griffith Moorooka

Ten minutes after the completion of each groups' games, the three teams will gather in a dedicated area, enjoying XXXX Gold (donated by TC and the XXXX Brewery team at Milton). Speeches will be deliverd by Craig Allingham, Professional Development Consultant and Graeme Higgs, PCFA Qld State Manager.

Just an update with a few happenings from the Junior side of things

On Tuesday March 12th some Brisbane Lions players will be making an appearance at the Chook Pen between 4:30 and 6:30pm to run through some drills with the kids

On Saturday March 23rd GMAFC Juniors will be hosting our annual Movie Night. All registered players are welcome and remember to bring a mate! First movie kicks off at 5pm
